F-Prot upgrade

I had my motherboard replaced professionally and he installed F-Prot as well.I cant up-grade without customer ID and product key.I asked him about this when I picked up my machine and he said he could not give me either as he installed the program.Is there any way around this?I checked out F-Prot web site and i'm concerned about what i've read.Is this program going to be removed from the market?or did I read it wrong?Any and all ideas welcome.:confused

 

Just went and visited their website. Only thing being discontinued is the support for the version that applies to Win98, Win98SE, and Windows ME. The newer versions aren't mentioned.

However, I'm leary of any application that I can't upgrade because of an unknown customer ID and product key, although I'm sure that the tech installed it as a courtesy for you.
