Facebook blank

A lot of people are having problems with Facebook opening to a blank white page. I used my Facebook yesterday off and on all day and it was fine but then I went to open it and the blank white page was there and still is. It seems to be happening everywhere. My husband could get in on his laptop. I can get in on my iPad but not my laptop. I've run my anti-virus program and two different malware programs and nothing shows up. There seems to be no way of contacting Facebook. Does anyone know what is going on??? Yes, I've deleted cache, cookies, history and anything else I thought might be helpful.:mad

 

Never seen that before. What browser are you using? Have you tried F5 (reload)?

 

I think I've tried everything in the world!! I've tried using Firefox, IE, Edge....I've done a ctrl + R, I've cleaned everything I can think of to clean, I've done a shift + left click, I've pinged Facebook's DNS and entered the DNS numbers with the same results. I called the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they say they've not heard of this before. My java is the most current as well as my browsers. The same way it happened is the same as some other people.....we used FB all day off and on and then went to open FB again and got the big blank white screen! I can open no link that starts with facebook.com. I'm sure I've done more but this is all I can think of right now :-(.

 

See if logging in using https://beta.facebook.com/login.php?login_attempt=1 makes any difference.

 

The link you gave did the same thing.....just a blank white page. I will say that I tried FN + F5 and it opened but that lasted about 5 minutes. I was going to change my profile picture and it just went blank again. I tried again and nothing happened but then I tried again and it opened but lasted maybe 30 seconds.

 

Have you tried flushing the DNS Cache?

 

Eldon, I had not flushed my DNS but I found out how and did it. Did not help :-(. But when I did a display DNS, it did show me Facebook's DNS number which I already had from pinging them. Using their number did not work either. I'm just about to give up because some people have had this issue for weeks if not months and it's ONLY Facebook that we can't access.

 

The problem is with your laptop, not with Facebook, as you do have access via your iPad and your husband has access via his laptop.

It could be that the Hosts File is corrupt. I suggest you run Tweaking.com - Windows Repair.

If everything else is working like it should, click the Start Repairs tab. Click Start and ensure Repair Hosts File and Repair Winsock & DNS Cache are checked, and then click Start Repairs.

Eldon, I honestly don't think it's my laptop because it is affecting thousands of people around the world. We are all experiencing the same thing. Check https://downdetector.com and you'll see what I mean. I can browse every other site on the web without an issue. I cannot connect at all to any link that contains facebook.com. I am at my wits end and think it's going to be up to FB to fix whatever is wrong.

 

If it's not your laptop, how do you explain what you posted?

And the thousands of people who are having the proplem are not connecting via a PC...

 

Eldon, you sound like you are getting angry with me and I've done nothing wrong. Just because my husband can access FB on his laptop and I can access FB on my iPad, there are lots and lots and lots of other people that the same thing is happening to. Their spouses or kids or friends can access FB but they can't. If I could ever get to FB's login page, I would log in under my husbands name to see if I could access it but I can't. No as of yet I have not tried your suggestion in #8........did you check out the link I sent you??
