    My computer has A7S8X-MX ASUS motherboard; AMD Athelon 2200 processor;
    Windows XP Pro OS. When I have to reboot my computer for any reason, my personal settings for my user account is wiped out and I have to redo my wallpaper some desktop icons and my screensavers. I also loose documents that I recently put into my documents folders. HELP!!!!!!! Is there a solution to my problem

    If you have admin priveleges save your docs then delete your personal (the one having problems not the admin) account then recreate it. That might correct it.

    Hope you haven't got to far. Go to Microsoft to see the correct way of doing it. :rolleyes:

    I am admin and there are no other personal accounts on my computer. I think it is a software problem.:rolleyes:

    Have you done a virus scan? Spyware scan?

    If the system is clean & it is a recent problem you could try doing a system restore to an earlier point. Have a look in the start menu for the shortcut to system restore.

    Do a complete scan every 24 hours. System restore does not solve the problem. I get the same settings as I get on reboot.

    See how this goes.

    You can create a new admin account without deleting the one you now have.

    Go to to Control panel/user accounts/create a new account.

    Follow the screens, give it a name & give it admin rights. Log onto the new account & see how you go.

    If it works you'll probably just have to ignore the non working one.
