fake search engine results

on my brother computer i search on google or yahoo, websites pop up but with similar names as my search keywords. when i look at the website associated with each result it always be the same. security-search.com, topeka.com and a whole host of fake sites. what can i do I've already scan for spyware and viruses, i even cleaned my registry up, still nothing

Not sure why it is doing that it actually sounds like your brothers system has been compromised. I'm not an expert in this at all, but from what you are saying each time you put in a site his browser for a lack of a better term has is being hijacked to go to these sites. Have him check out the link I provided and follow the instructions just as a safety precaution. Hopefully someone will come through with a better suggestion and get him back to normal
