fake usb

a Kingston 256gb, DT310 bought in China at a VERY LOW price..... ehem.. keeps losing part of the data. Tried to format but won't format in NTFS, only in exFAT.
I've been reading over this quite a lot, but I am more confused than at the beginning. Ebay offers cheap fix-up, I just don't trust them.
Any advise? Txx

 

Sounds like the device is just plain ole corrupt.

Best advice here is just get a new USB drive.

Have just done some searching on DT310.
Some link following and reading suggests that the data will be corrupt if you transfer more to the drive than it can handle then try to access.
Have you confirmed the capacity of the drive?

Well, Kestrel13, I took a calculated Risk. Few months ago I bought a "Sony Vaio" of 64 Gig, fake of course, reformatted it with Disk Management, and until today has been trustworth. Won one, lost one, eh?

 

hrlow2, no, I did not check the real capacity of the USB. The truth is that I was expecting an easy solution, but now I see is not going to happen. But well, is only $20something; what is strange, I found more sites warning about the fake, and very little advise on finding the solution; I did download a low level prog, that didn't work, another promising FREE help, but after analizing in a promising way, asked for my credit card (nonothankyou).
