Help Please! I just did a restoration on my computer which was supposed to return it to factory specs. I have an HP with XP Media Center Edition 2005. It has a AMD Athlon 64 processor and 1gig of memory. Hard drive is 200GB.

After the restoration I have deleted a lot of unwanted programs. No matter what I try to open I receive this message. Windows Install is at the top in a blue box and the message preparing to install is under it. This appears on anything I try to open including web sites. It will finally disapear. How do I get rid of this nuisance. I have used system restore and even did a remove program with windows installer intending to install a fresh copy. Neither one helped.

I have a new email address since last useing Major Geeks. It is Can someone tell me how to change it at Major Geeks?? Thanks a bunch

First: it really isn't a good idea to list your email address (esp. as an active link) in a thread. Spam-bots and automated harvesters can latch onto it and flood your inbox with all kinds of garbage, and you'll probably need to set up another new email address just to get away from the crapola.
Second: take a look at this in reference to your installer problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us You can download the Installer Clean Up Utility from that link or right here at Major Geeks http://www.majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html You also mentioned that you uninstalled Windows Installer? Is that right? The current version is 3.1 and that is what should be installed; it is usually one of the very first updates installed when you visit the Windows Update web site. You can also get it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893803/en-us There is also some info about possible issues at that link which you may find helpful.
    Good luck!
