when i boot up pc its says problem with system fan system will shut down it 5seconds and then it turns off.

the base unit was in storage. err its an 900mhz athlon. i took out the cmos bat but that did nothing.

motherboard supports both cpu fan and case fan. cpu fan 3 pin connector not working on mobo. i put the cpu fan on the case fan connector and the case fan on cpu fan connector and case fan dont work,

but cpu fan dose but pc still thinks that the cpu fan is not working and turns off.

The CPU fan, connect only the fan speed monitering wire, should be the yellow, then connect the two wires to a molex connector or even connect the other two wires to the other fan header.

I usually never connect case fans to the MOBO fan headers, caues there is a limited amout of juice avaible on a fan header, exced that amount & you can burn out the fan header which may be your problem but if the monitoring Leg works youll be OK.
