    Hey guys,
My system froze so I reset it.
Upon reboot I noticed my BIOS went back to factory default settings and I noticed my fan is louder?

I re-applied BIOS settings I had before but the fan is still loud. Any ideas how I can make it run quieter?

Can you tell which fan it is?

Is there a setting in your BIOS controlling the fan speed?

What make and model of motherboard do you have?

If it's an AMD CPU you might wanna turn on AMD Cool ' N ' Quiet & set it to optimal :)

Thanks for the feedback guys. I found CPU fan settings in BIOS. It's quiet again.

    BTW, my system is
    P5K3 Deluxe
q6600 2.4 GHz OC @3GHz (428x7) everything else is on Auto, incl. Voltage
    BFG GT8800 OC2
    250GB SATA2 system drive
    500GB SATA2 storage drive

I am going to put up another post right now about discrepancy in what true CPU speed is. Different programs are showing different results.
