Farcry HDR rendering problem with 6800GT. Am I alone?

I am running 77.77 drivers. My video card is not overclocked.

 

uninstall those drivers, reboot, download new drivers prior to these instructions install them, reboot.

 

Do you mean go back to the 77.72 or 71.89 driver? I tried it with the 77.72 and it's the same.

 

no i meant, uninstall your drivers, reboot, install the 77.7 again and finally reboot.

 

And make sure you have the latest patch for Far Cry installed.

 

It seems like you're just going over all the obvious things that I've already done.
What I really want to know is, has anyone else got this problem? I think it's a bug.

Ok sorry my bad seriously. I give up with HDR I'll wait until the HL2 mod comes out with HDR, or is that out already?

 

download driver cleaner pro from the drivers download section,follow the instructions in the readme to the LETTER or it wont work,then install the latest drivers.

The only time I have seen something like this before was when cards were dying,but you dont have any problems with any other games?Is farcry always like this from the minute you start up the game?Or does it get worst the more you play,do you play any other games as intensive as farcry without any problems?what temps does your card run at?

It may also be a really bad install of the game so I would try reinstalling it,also is this an original boxed copy of farcry.

I know you want someone to say I'v had that problem press f2 and everything will work but very rarely does that happen,that many people wont see your thread

 

HL2, CS:S, Doom 3, Battlefield 2 all run fine. Farcry only gets bad when I turn on HDR rendering in the console. My card runs at 60-70 celcius under load, 55 idle using a Zalman VF700 fan.

Yes. It's still buggered.

 

I get extreme multicoloured lines and glows when I use HDR.

It is less visible in mode 1, then it gets worse the higher I go.

I have a 7800GTX with a 4000+ CPU and 1GB PC3200 XMS.

You're not on your own.

Dude, renaming the FarCry.exe in the \Bin folder of the FarCry directory to FarCry1.exe fixes this issue!

My 7800GTX runs FarCry in 1280x1024 with HDR mode 7 and all settings on Ultra High at around 60-70fps now without any strange rendering or multicoloured artifacts.

I don't really want to go back to 1.32 after patching to 1.33.
I might try what leachy86 said, renaming a farcry file sounds precarious to me though.

 

Trust me dude, renaming it doesn't affect any of the games system files or making anything corrupt or out of order, just stops nVidia's drivers from knowing that FarCry.exe is running and then it enables some settings which interfere with the running of HDR.
