If you havent played the far cry demo, you should, its pretty good.
But, my problem stems from the end(ish) part of the level; I got up to the satellite, shot down the helicopters, and went inside. Tehres a spot on a piece of machinery to lay a charge; the only problem is, I cant figure out *how* to lay this charge. Tried looking in the controls menu, pressing random buttons, etc, and I cant get it to work.
Does anyone know what you have to do to lay the charge?

Press the use button standing infront of it, and then run like hell.

Excellent game by the way, I've been following this one since it was first announced.

Ok, had a thought, did you pick up the demo charge yet?
Go back to the steam vent near the door you entered, and there is another door, go in there, and on the right hand side, you'll find the demo charge.

"Did you hear something" ;) ;)

No, I never saw that door...got it now....
OVerall, the game was pretty good...I would make the movement a bit faster, it feels like im moving through maple syrup.
Some of the textures are of a pretty low quality, which I hope is fixed for the final version of the game.
And I was getting some corruption on a few surfaces, to. And the shadows on the rocks were terrible; big, dark blotches with hard edges on the rocks, which I would hope will be fixed for the final version.

You need a good card to get all the textures properly. Even my GF4 FX 5200 is cr*p and I have to set every texture setting to low or I get blue trees in the distance. I had to patch it straight away with the 1.1 patch to even see the game in any color other than blue. Everything was varying shades of light blue to start with.

GF4 Ti 5600 or better or Radeon 9600 Pro or better should handle it. I have heard reports of several problems with anything lower spec and textures had to be reduced to make it playable.

I am not implying that it can't be run on anything less but if you want to see the best ever graphics in a game, you need something that will allow you to turn everything up to the max.

I don't know about CPU/graphics issues, I run a dual Athlon 2600 MP with 2Gb ram so processor requirements for games aren't an issue with me :p . My friend runs an Athlon 2100 and he said the game ran very smoothly with his Radeon 9600 Pro so it looks like the processor speed is not that important.

easiest way to get rid of those hiddeous blue textures... switch the rendering to OpenGL... especially if you have a GeForce card since they really perform superior in OpenGL IMO.

My Ti4600 runs it GREAT with medium textures and high settings in 1280x1024, with a constant 40fps or higher.
