   Is there a tool or command in windows that will check the dll files and such using the CD??? I'm sure there's one for XP Pro "right?"

   Click Start, and then click Run.
   Type: sfc /scannow
   
   
   or as well as you could use the File Signature Verification Utility
   
   Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > system information > click Tools > File Signature Verification Utility
   
   you probably need the cd for both opperations.
