I have a ethernet cable running from my wireless router to my PS3 (about 30ft away). I would like to also have an ethernet cable running to my dish network receiver in the same location and I am getting Apple TV.
Will I get a faster download speed with another router with ethernet cables running in from router 1 at out to 1.PS3 2.Dish Network Receiver 3.Apple TV (will not use any of them at the same time)
or using a wireless Airport extreme signal to my Apple TV?
    Thanks

Short answer, no. cat5 is rated for 100 meters with no attenuation unless there is outside interference. so running cat5 from your switch to your PS3 30ft away isnt affecting speed.
Wireless is slower than wired, so you wont see any speed increase using wireless either. if youre able, i would run cat5.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my real question is if it is faster to connect a 2nd router at the end of the 30 ft run and run cat5 from the second router to both my PS3 and AppleTV or just go wireless with Apple TV?
    Thanks again,
    Brad

itll be faster to connect your second router to the end of the 30ft and wire your stuff than to use wireless.
Keep in mind you will only be using the switch ports on your home router. you wont be using the router port. Youll also have to turn off dhcp on your second device.
