    New install of AutoCad 2004.
Legal disk with S/N & auth codes.
    Running XP Pro, Chinese version.
    All updates installed, no issues.
After install when try to run error message:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x7eef6048 Exception at 360088a0h.

Installed and runs fine on another laptop.
Any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks,
    Jay

    Greetings, JayDee2010.

From what I've gleaned from searches, this may have to do with a conflict between AutoCad and antivirus software. You might try uninstalling AC, disabling any antivirus software you have running, then reinstalling AC.

    Thanks Caliban,

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

    Uninstalled AutoCad
    Uninstalled Malwarebytes
    Uninstalled Avast
Cleaned registry/laptop with Advanced System Care
    Ran Hitman Pro 3.5
    Restart
Reinstalled Autocad on Drive C:\Program Files this time, no issues.
Run - gets same disclaimer to contact dealer.

DDE Server Window: acad.exe FATAL ERROR
0x360088a0 Unhandled Access Violation reading 0x7eef6048.

So is this a memory problem, software or what?

Am thinking on uninstalling all MS .NET Framework (1.1 + Chinese Language Pack, 2.0 SP 2 + Chinese Language Pack, 3.0 SP 2 + Chinese Language Pack)

Will install MS .NET Framework 3.5 SP 1 + Chinese Language Pack and see what happens.

Have installed AutoCad in English with no problems on a totally Chinese laptop using XP Pro (MS .NET Framework 3.5 SP 1 + Chinese Language Pack), just to test a theory and report back.

Uninstalled MS .NET Framework 1.1 + Chinese Language Pack but kept the others and did not install 3.5.

Also manually removed all references to AutoCad 2004 on C & D plus any registry value entries (as they were not removed by ASC).

Restart OK, reload, no issues but same error upon run.

Uninstalled, at this point I don't know what else to try.

    Thanks,
    Jay

I have no idea - I've never used AutoCad. The only other thing that stands out in some of my searches is the suggestion of formatting/reinstalling Windows, then reinstalling AC, but that seems too drastic a step. Doesn't really tell you what the problem is, does it?

Maybe cruise any AutoCad forums for similar issues and/or solutions?

    Thanks Caliban,
No help @ Autodesk for this, too old.
It may be a RAM issue - I have no clue at all.
Other proggies re-installed fine, just this one is a PITA.
    Will keep you posted.
    Thanks,
    Jay

Be patient - maybe some of the gurus here will pitch in.

Hope you get it sorted, and happy holidays to you.
