Faulty software 2hotspot controller

I just downloaded and installed 2hotspot controller from the Internet Tools section...and haven't been able to get online since. No matter what url I try to open, my browser keeps redirecting to 2hotspot and then timing out. I tried to uninstall it, but the install.log can't be found. So what do I do now?

Thanks for the quick response. I'm running XP Home SP3. I also tried uninstalling with Revo which is what told me the install.log was missing. Now after trying a System Restore, I am not even able to get online. My connection is showing an "ip conflict with another system on the network"...whatever that means. I am not working on a network. HELP!!!

 

you need to open network connections, right click on wireless/wired lan (whichever you use) open the properties, and remove all the IP & DNS settings, click "assign settings automatically" in both ip & DNS check boxes connect to your network and you'll be up and away again.

2HOTSPOT was once a half decent program, but is no longer operational. Your computer is probably sending you to the default 2HOTSPOT page? which doesnt exist. check the web address.

you can then uninstall through control panel>add remove programs

Thanks Billy. That worked like a charm! I also removed 2hotspot...but would love to know of an alternative. Any suggestions?

No problem Laurie, i'm glad it worked for you, nothing worse than a buggered connection eh! What exactly were you trying to do with your internet connection with 2hotspot, may i ask? I'm sure theres a utility out there for the task in hand.
