I have a long list of favorites in FF all neatly in folders

I want to move them to a different computer, can I save them or how do I accomplish this goal?

    Bookmarks then Show all Bookmarks
    Import or Backup
    Backup on the one computer.
On the 2nd computer, do the same steps but select Import instead of Backup.

    nevermind, I got it

I usually ask 1st when I have no ideas because my talents lie in sleeping:zzz and making ice, so its usually absurd to try anything on my own
    but I got this

I actually did this on my 1st attempt and it saved my file as something or other and I tried to import on the 2nd computer and it coudnt find the NON=html file
so I had to walk back upstairs(yeah, actually its a pain) and save it as HTML then go downstairs and it loaded
well its done, time for a nap:confused

I have had the same problem when trying to restore.
The solution is, when you are saving the backup FireFox says it will save as a JSON file but it doesn't put the extension .json on the end of the backup name, you should put the .json extension yourself then save.
FireFox will recognize the file when you want to restore it later

A restore using a JSON file will completely overwrite your bookmarks with the the backup bookmarks. This means you will lose any bookmarks you have added since the backup.
A restore using a HTML file will add the backup bookmarks to the already existing bookmarks This might give you duplicates

    Hi

I know you have completed this question and well done you!

Just to throw an alternate option in the mix and one that I did use is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/xmarks-sync/ allows you to save in an online account your favs and sync them to other PCs of yours as well as backup restore.
