Favorites manipulation string

Would like to know if any one is aware of a "Macro" that can be added to our web site as follows.... "If you would like to add us to your favorites file, click here" I would like the link to add our web address to their favorites file automatically, AND, do a reorganize of the favorites file in alpahbetical order, in one step. Does anyone already have, or know of, a script written that will accomplish this minor task? Thank you!

 

This minor task would make me want to think bad things about you.. I urge you to consider NOT attempting to resort my bookmarks alphabetically. Forget about it and move on.

As for the bookmark prompt, that is less intrusive but equally annoying. Try www.javascripts.com and let me know what your website is so we can avoid it.

 

Not looking to raise hackles, only trying to help our small private group of customers have easy access to our site.

 

Like I said.. the java script pop up for "add bookmark" isn't that bad.. I personally can't stand it. But re-sorting ANYONE'S favorites is just something that is wrong. Everytime I do a clean install, I spend about 45 minutes re-sorting all my favorites where I want them and I'm sure that some of your customers would feel annoyed if suddenly their favorite, favorite is no longer where it used to be.

Aside from that, it's a security risk and I doubt that any browser would let you have access to it so that you could perform such an action. This could be labled as Hijacking and raise flags for some people. That is why I say to just pretend it doesn't exist.

FYI: Shortcut to add to favorites = CTRL+D
This will place the current url in your favorites.

You may want to show that as an option to those visitors that have JavaScript disabled.
