Favorites

I dont know if this is the right place to post this but here goes.

I had a list in my favorites (runing Vista, Internet7) and 2 days ago I turned my pc on and my favorite web sites were all gone. I took me years to find and keep some of those sites.

So I found the My favorites file, copied and pasted them all to desktop, then opened all of them until I had them transformed back to my favorites. Next day, same thing, went to my favorites, no sites.

I did notice something different, when I go to My Favorites I have a Feeds icon beside it and then a History tab. Was bot there before?

Today I decided to fo to My Favorites folder again to put the sites to desktop and then move them to my favorites and they wee all gone.

I tries to do a System Restore but no mater what date I tries to restore the system to it would not work. I tried to do this also in safe mode?

Any help would be appreciated. I am still working on my daughter PC to get a report put up and I am at my wits end going from a Vista to an XP?:confused

 

If you're dual booting with Vista then XP will wipe all Vista restore points when you go into it. It's kind of confusing, which OS has the issue?.

 

No I am not duel booting. I do wish I had Xp instead of this piece of s@#$!

I lost so many sites It's unreal. from now on I am going to make a folder and put the sites I want saved in the new folder.Right now I cant keep anything in My Favorites that will stay there. I have nothing to backup?

FAvorites is screwed up. For instance when I came to this site Added it to My Favorites. Well it showed up and then today when I clicked on Major Geeks it had every page I had been on in Major Geeks site. I deleted the pages and left Major Geeks. com. when I went to click on it the thing would not work, I had to type it in.

Do you think it has been hacked or a Trogan, virus type thing.

I am the only user of this computer and I tell you I could cry at the thought of being so stupid and not backing up things. I just never figured My Favories would dissapear? Lost years of website, some very important.

I also tryed a recover lost or deleted programs and files but found nothing about favorites?

Oh well life goes on. I guess I will do a clean install and see what happens.
