    Hello:
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition. Does anyone know how to alphabetize the Favorites?
    Thanks

    WElcome to Major Geeks, James.

Try right-clicking any menu that shows your favorites, and choose Sort by Name. It can be the drop downs fromthe menu bar or the listings when you click Manage Favorites.

(Make sure that Use Personalized Menus is not checked in Internet Options, Advanced tab.)

    Thanks, Wisewiz:
I tried right clicking everywhere in order to sort by name without any luck.
    Thanks

Hey wiz, I've been searching for a way to order favs for a while and with your method there is no sort by name option, not even grayed. As to JamesWRMJ's post I don't think he was able either. Just my 2c's. :)

    Aug,

If we're talking IE 6, if you click Favorites in the menu bar, and click any of your folders of favorites (your Software folder, for instance -- just about everybody's got one of those), and right-click any of the favorites inside that folder (like Major Geeks), you'll see Sort by Name. If you haven't collected similar bookmarks into folders, then a right click on any of the favorites in the drop-down list should show Sort by Name way down at the bottom of a long list of options.

But, as I told our questioner, ya gotta turn OFF personailzed toolbars/menus in the Advanced panel (I think).

Sorry, I forgot that that option isn't present in the Organize Favorites window.

Geez wiz, it works now all of a sudden, Took several tries and I don't know why it works but I'll take it. Thanks. :)

(BTW, no rhyme intended with yellow stuff) :D

IE is stubborn. Remember all the posts that said you had to max IE pages about ten times before you could get IE to recognize that you wanted pages maxed?

That's one of the 1001 reasons why I prefer Firebird by a long shot. Once is enough. Well, so far.

No offence taken about the yellow stuff. It's orange, anyway.

So,... JAMES! C'mon in and report. Take heart if you have to try several times. If Augiedoggie can get it, you can, too. IE's default layout is alphabetical order, so keep trying.

    Hello:
I don't know how it happened but my favorites are properly arranged now.
I thank all of you for your help.

Hmmm. Kinda reminds me of another post above:
The right method, applied correctly, together with a little persistence (onaccounta IE's stubborn), and it all snaps RIGHT. :D

    Congrats, gents.

    It's me again:
Thank you, Wizewis. I took a closer look at your instructions. I tried it just to see & it worked.
