Faxworks for Windows 3.11

I need advice on how to adjust (?) a Windows 3.11 program to run in Windows 98 (and/or XP). The program is Faxworks with voice, an answering machine/callcenter/fax program, which worked wonderfully well, has multiple mailboxes, pager notification, caller id, etc. Have searched for months trying to find a replacement program, only to find similar programs are either too expensive, too trouble-laden (with inadequate support) or not as feature-filled as Faxworks. Unfortunately the company which made Faxworks was sold and the new owners dropped the program and its support, although I believe it may still be in use in the UK. Anybody out there have any thoughts on tinkering with the program, or know of any answering machine programs which actually work well, with good documentation/support?
