I recently was given a comp to look at and took home and hooked up and started. Comp booted with no problem. I put a flashdrive in to install Everest but Windows could not find driver for flashdrive. So I shutdown and hooked up ethernet and restarted. Now comp starts to boot but stops and gives a "FDC Failure press delete to continue". I press continue and it says "Unable to read disk in drive A insert disk and retry". I tried putting a WIN98 startup disk in but comp still boots to FDC failure. Comp is a Dell 4100 and has Millenium OS. I'm assuming FDC Failure is "Fixed Disk Check Failure". Anyone ever run across this. I was able to get into bios and change boot sequence but floppy does not even light up. Anyway to check harddrive and floppy without flip flopping parts around?

Did some searching FDC failure is "Floppy disk controller failure". Will try different floppy first.
