FEAR not patching 1.00-1.08

the patch has been a real pain...i dled the US version from fileplanet.com, it says that my game is not an US en version and that i need to dl the right patch....wtf? There shud be no reason that my game is non-US (unless Canada uses Eur en version...), so i used the ingame patcher....it started this updater and dled the file. AND it ALSO says that my game is NOT the US en version....WTF???? i cant believe that sierra cant even tell the difference from their own games.....

and now i cant play Extraction Point....and wasted almost 2 gigs of bandwith....

help me out guys ><

 

okay...right now im patched to 1.02, and wont do 1.03....from 1.0-1.02 were US too....and the 1.03 wud just say that its not the US version....damn...

bah....i found the solution....jeez took me like effing 7 hours too find the solution and the thing i need to do was like 3 secs....well for the ppl out there that also has the same problem as me, heres the solution

Start-->Run-->type in 'regedit'-->on the left side branch, click on 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' and expand 'SOFTWARE', then 'MICROSOFT' then 'WINDOWS' then 'CURRENT VERSION' and then expand 'Uninstall', there shud be a long list of folders that starts with the '{' bracket (note that we are still clicking on the folders on the left hand branch) click on, '{2B653229-9854-4989-B780-D978F5F13EAB}' and on the right edit all the REG_DWORD values to '0'

yep thats it, that shud get ppl to update!

haha....its not me that came up with the reg idea, my friend told me, he's way more exprienced in that, though it did take me a hell load of time to find the right folder and i actaully needed to research on wtf is a DWORD or else i wuddnt know wut to change, soooo bascially i cant really take that much credit, thx tho!
