With all the tragedy going on right now all across the world, thought it might be nice if we could all cheer up a bit and be thankful for what we do have.

I am thankful that I get to live another day, have a beautiful wife and healthy kids.

Last Tuesday I underwent the last of my Chemo Therapy treatment for stomach cancer after 18 weeks and just have to wait for a CT Scan the first week in Feb and a final (hopefully) appointment with the Oncologist on Feb9th to tell me how much they have shrunk the cancer and if it will ever return.
Feeling JUST FINE now after 6 months of not knowing for sure what the outcome would be after a stomach bypass operation because the cancer was found to be inoperable..

May Yeshua comfort and heal you during this process dave.

I am also thankful that despite our differences in this country, and setting aside current events for a moment, by and large, we all live pretty civilly with one another.

Thanks, Everyone for your good wishes.

I feel fine at the moment and just hope that this year is a lot better than 2010 for me and for everyone else in a civil world.

I adopted an "attitude" given to me by MSgt William T. McAdams, USMC, who once told me, "..any day your above ground and breathing, is a good day.." He was right! :)

you see, the Arizona thing got me thinking. Society today loves a good, and pardon the expression, bitch session. however, you don't hear people say what they are thankful for, or try to see the positive in things. Thats not to say that we all don't have our days where we get down, but it amazes me that in this modern time, we have it so easy and yet people almost choose it seems to see the negative in everything, mental issues aside.

I am also thankful that i found a spectacular forum for tech issues, a nice group of people, and that I am now TimW's cake licker in training.

Congrats dave.m. My last chemo treatment ended Dec 18. I'm now on my way to having the surgery next month to remove the rest of the nasty stuff.

Hang in there buddy, no matter how much it sucks swamp water!

    Dave T. :wave

dave.m, pm me if you'd like to share experiences, or just need someone to talk to or listen.

    Dave T,
Thanks for the PM invite but I do not have 50 posts at the moment and so the option is not available.

I am fine at the moment and doing just great. Once chemo is finished, I do not have to undergo any more surgery.

You look after yourself and I hope that the cleanup surgery is just that, to remove any traces of what the chemo left behind.

Chin up and I will think of you.

Sure is better than the alternative, wouldn't you say?
