FFXI problems

ok heres the deal, up until a few days ago ffxi was working perfectly on my laptop. My system meets all of the requirements to play the game and i have had it for some time and never had a problem. I have a mobility radeon 9200 for a graphics card. the mobility 9200 is completely compatiable with directx 8.1 , but i am now running directx 9. I assume this was installed with the microsoft service pack 2 which was issued a few days ago around the time the game messed up. i was wondering if this could be the problem. i have tried updating videocard drivers and such but its no use. the play online viewer for the game moves extremely slow and the text and graphics are lightly distorted and grainy. i have also tried rolling back the drivers. nothin i can think of seems to work. i was wondering if anyone had this same problem , and if anyone could help?????

 

Uninstall SP2.

Does the problem go away?

 

I have the same problem, cept with a Mobility Radeon 9000, it's a pain in the butt, please help...
