For some reason, I have no idea why, my download folder wont open.
    It says:
"this program does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
Not being able to find anything in the default programs control panel, I am not sure what to do.
I would appreciate any help. Thankyou.:-o:-o:-o

Which version of Windows are you using, and do you have a Windows installation disk for it (i.e. not a recovery disk)?

OK, sounds like possible system file corruption. Open a command prompt in elevated mode and run sfc /scannow. Note the space, it's important.

(To open a command prompt type cmd in the Start > Search box, right click cmd.exe at the top and click Run as Administrator. This is not the same as your user account being an Administrator account. Micrtosoft! You've gotta love 'em) rolleyes

You could also perform a system restore if you have a restore point pre-dating this problem.

Ok ran that, it had corrupt files which it fixed, but I still have the same problem.
System restore didn't work :( That is why I tried here.
    I have run Malwarebytes, tweaking.com.

Thinking back, I have been cleaning up my computer and deleting programs I wasn't using, and thinking I have deleted something I shouldn't although I don't know what it could have been, other than another program that used some of the same files maybe.
I don't know enough about computers to know why.

Thankyou for your efforts, I appreciate them.

Tried all of these nothing worked, but.........I have no idea how this worked, and I don't even know why I thought it would work, LOL, I copied the downloads folder into my E: drive and it works, so I copied it out again to the desktop and it works. I have sent the one with the lnk to the recycle bin. No idea how it worked as I don't know enough about computers to work it out. Thankyou so much for all the great help from people in here. I very much appreciate it. Franklin

    HI

.lnk is a link file, generally a shortcut.

Try this and let us know the steps that you use and any issues in installing and using the software, click http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/ccleaner_slim.html and download to desktop (choose desktop for now) and then see if the file downloaded ok and installed, does it run ok.

Seems if you have a authorised user issue but you should not as you admin I presume?

MBAM highlights a PUP they are not normally a major issue but I would be inclined to run the Malware Read Me and post in the malware forum with logs etc for the experts to review, more a precaution.
