Hi people, quickie this one I hope.

My pc is low on memory and as I was checking through removing old files I noticed in my Windows file on the C drive, there are numerous files with typical names like '$NtUninstallKB898461$' and in them are a few bits which seem to relate to the XP update I recently installed. These have to stay right?

Secondly, in the same Windows file, there are also numerous notepad logs with typical files names such as 'KB835732.log' - are these required or can they be deleted?

Thirdly, and finally, there are also a few files which are like white squares with little windows in them with 3 tiny icons - one red, one blue, one green, and when clicked on a window comes up informing me Windows cannot open these files and asks me to choose one from a list or go on-line to find one. Are these required??

Geez, I do need to gen up on this stuff, but in the meantime any help is appreciated and to those who can help - thanks and Happy Christmas! :)

Great, I've done all that now and the second download has increased the pc's processing by 5%, small but it all helps.

    Big thanks Major! :)
