File Copy virus

Has anyone heard of a virus that can get past a Norton Anti-Virus and double all your files on your hard drive? Most importantly how can the file be seen and deleted?
My hard drive went from 48% full to 99% in less than a week without me doing anything. My 'C' drive is now at capacity and my computers performance sucks.

What files were duplicated?

 

I have a similar problem and none of my anti-virus efforts show any problems

I have noticed that many MS word files seem to be duplicated (something to do with DOS perhaps) the duplicated files have a (~) preceding the original file name?

I am new to the forum let me know if I screw up

Thanks for the tip about the mail address I have been trying to edit the dam thing with little success (I did manage to edit out my address sorta but it wasn’t pretty) The edit button isn’t always there…just “quote & quick reply”…I’m so confused!

The edit button is only there for about 3 minutes after you post......

I, also, have tried to edit and button not there any more.

Overdue, found your other post at last. See today's reply from Halo and the Major. You need a bigger hard drive and more RAM, also. Bazza
