file download freezing

    I am running a new machine:
    P4 3.2e 800mhz fsb
    Asus P4S800 mobo
    1 GB DDR400 RAM
    120 GB 7200 RPM Seagate
    DSL Connection

    I am getting very good ping and data transfer rate on DSL connection. When I try and download a large file (50 MB plus) it starts off fine, but then the download freezes after about 30 to 50 MB. The animation for the download screen continues to run, but the amt downloaded stops moving. The download program is still responding also, so it isnt an app crashing. I tried several times to download 3dMark05 and from a few different sites, including this one, but no luck. My laptop using the same internet connection is able to download just fine....

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Not a huge fan of the stability and reliability of DSL, so I would first try a download manager. If its a new machine, I assume it is a clean install, so aside from the usual spyware scans I dont have anything else to offer without more specifics.

    OK, I take it back. It is my connection, not my machine. Yesterday I was able to download no problem. Today both my laptop and my desktop are able to download about 25MB before they stop. Is this an ISP problem or can it be my modem or router? Any suggestions? I just got EQII and I'm afraid I wont be able to run the patcher (going to try now). This is killing me LOL.
