File Explorer And Desktop Icons

Help I try to open some of my desktop icons the pc just hangs then blanks out for a second then just back to desktop? I have lost my file explorer too. Not to great at this so any help will be very welcomed.

 

Ok let's get some info.

What operating system are you currently running.Win 7,8,8.1 or 10.

 

If you are currently running any of them OS systems try these option's below first.

Ok first thing we are going to try.

Open up start menu.

1. In the start menu type cmd or command prompt,Right on the cmd icon and select administrator rights.
2. Now while in command prompt type in the little black box "Type: chkdsk /f".
3. Chkdsk /f will ask you a question Press Y for yes.And reboot system.
4. This operation can take up to 5 mins or 30 mins depending on how old your system is.

After this step is done.Go to step two.


Now Step two.

Let's go back into cmd as administrator rights.

1. Then while in command prompt."Type SFC /scannow".
2. This scan will check the integrity of the windows files.
3. This should take up to 10 mins to 30mins.

Type this in the command prompt to locate the CBS log file.findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfclogs.txt"

Save it as a text and upload it here if there are any errors.

FYI edit save the text note pad as onto your desktop.This will be much easier to find.
