File I click on 'no longer located' there

Hi There,

I am clicking on a file which is named a '.pdf' type but does not have any image and just has a blank box. When I tried to delete it I get a popup saying

'This is no longer located in ....(file directory). Please check and try again.'

I tried to delete it using file assassin but it kept crashing before I got near so I had to uninstall it. I tried Lockhunter but it is saying the file is not there, even though it is locatable through it's folder browsing.

Any thoughts/advice? Anyone had or come accross this problem?

 

Run a chkdsk on your Windows drive (probably C: ) to see if it is a filesystem error.

Right-click My Computer and select Properties. Go to Tools tab and choose Error Checking. Leave just the first box ticked and hit Check Now button. It will schedule the chkdsk for next startup. Reboot, let it run then when Windows starts try again to delete the file.
