file issue please help

can anyone help me when i try to run a program it keeps telling me that my dll file is missing or corrupt file d3dx9_33.dll can not be found or is corrupt i just reformated my puter and thought i installed everything i needed i am not sure what i am doing so any help is greatful

Did you get any file copy errors during installation?

Are you using XP, Vista or 7?

That is a problem with DirectX. Please upgrade it, even if you are running the latest build, because there could be a problem with the original install.
