File name major error!!!

Hey ya'll!

I'm kinda new to this forum. Anyways, my computer HDD crashed and I had to replace the it. I have most of my mp3 collection backed up on cds, but since I did that from Linux (I'm a dual booter) all of the files and folders remain in uppercase. Is there anyway to change/rename a bunch of folders from uppercase to lowercase.

P.S. I'm using XP w/ a 60gig hdd, 512 ram, Sony Vaio PCG-GR370.

Well, do you know of an mp3 renaming tool that can change names from uppercase to lowercase or some other crazy software that might do this (Linux stuff maybe)?

 

Hmmm, you can try this freeware tool I found which can change attributes to files in multiple folders at once. Not sure if it can do anything about the upper/lower case letters, but for instance it's handy for removing the "read-only" setting of all files copied from CD since it will recurse folders.

Reading your post again, are you saying the files are still on CD? I doubt there's anything you can do to change the case of the MP3's unless you copied them to HDD, changed the case there, then re-burnt them to CD.

 

Yes, the mp3s are on the HDD. I'll take your advice and see it this works...thanks for the help (I still wish there were some dos/Linux command to change file names from uper ro lower case since I'm a dualbooter)!!!

 

ISSUE SOLVED: for reference, I used A.F.5 and a folder rename to do the trick!!!
