File Organizing

Hey Geeks,
I'm looking for a software program that will scan my hard drive and show a list of every file for me to organize. Is there anything like that around? I just installed some back up files, like 8 gig worth of mp3's, word.doc's, and many with different extensions and they are just scattered all over thanks to this stupid Vista an the fact that my back up programs are not compatible, so it just put the files whever it felt like. What a mess.

This really doesn't make much sense. Exactly what did you do when you "installed some back up files"?

And, please clarify this. What are your "back up programs"?

 

Well I guess that would help, duh. Sorry. Nero 6. But it is unable to run on Vista, I tried the new Nero 8 and that just hung my laptop up while trying to restore the back up files. Nero's reply to my request for help... We have know known workaround or hot fix at this time. Sheeesh that helps. And the other program I used for backing up my files was creative free version. That also did not work well onVista. Those are the ones I used.

Try WinDirStat. It may help, as it analyzes your HD and tells you where most of your space is being used. It won't generate a printed list of all your files but is better than Explorer for showing you what files are on your disk and where they are located.
