file passwords?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong category to post this, I wasn't sure where this question would go. Sometimes my younger cousins go on my computer and there are a lot of files I keep that have explicit language that wouldn't be beneficial for them to see. I have an XP PC, and I was wondering, is there a way to lock files using a password? I've heard that there is but I couldn't find anything in the help section.
