    Greetings folks..

Had a directory on my 200gb drive that I couldn't delete. Said the dir was corrupted just after I made it. So, I decide to run XP's version of scandisk on it with the option to automatically fix. Big mistake! Now I have a real mess. I immediately removed the drive form the system so as not to make the situation worse. Any advice on recovering all my files would be most helpful and appreciated.. thanks..

Did you get any error messages when trying to access that drive, if so what?

also what file system type does the OS think the drive is now Fat32,NTFS,RAW?

One way I have recovered data in the past when a drive has had errors in the file system is to either use a live Linux CD like Knoppix to see if I could see and copy data to CD.

    another program to try http://www.majorgeeks.com/PC_Inspector_File_Recovery_d2463.html
