File Recovery

Maybe File recovery isn't the right term for the help I'm looking for, but they are related.

I'm a Tech College student and a local business asked if there were any techs that could help with their computers. I wasn't the one originally sent, but something came up and he was unable to continue.

Anyway, the point is the lady I'm helping bought a new computer for her small business. The harddrive was moved from the old PC to the new one, with all the data, including software, still intact.

Both hard drives have Windows XP Home, with SP2 I believe. She NEEDS her data files from the old disk onto her new one. The files are stored in the Owner's folder in Documents and Settings. The tree resembles:

Owner
|
Files

Problem is, when I try to open the Owner folder on the old drive (F: ) from the new drive (C: ) I get an Access Denied error. Any ideas how I can get the files off.

I thought about booting to the old harddrive, but figured I'd have to re-register Windows if I did, since it was in a brand new PC. If anyone can lend me some advice, It'd really help me.
