file sharing over a network

My brother and I each have tons of music but its on separate computers. How could we share these files? We have DSL and they are networked through our phone line if that info helps u at all....

 

Are you networked in the house, or in different states or towns? If the same house, and networked via LAN in the house (ie Router and WiFi or Ethernet), you just have to local File Share, and able to do so.

If different states or towns, you would have to set up a Secure VPN connection to each other's network, and either use SecureSSH FTP transfer, or a secure P2P connection, such as MSN IM or YahooIm, where only you two are able to access each other's network.

A cheap alternative is also Logmein at http://www.logmein.com
