Can anyone recommend a program that I can use to share files safely with a friend? I don't want to have to send one at a time, but would rather be able to designate a folder that he can pull files from at his own leisure, as long as we are both logged into the service.

Windows Live Messeger has a Shared Folder feature, which is close, but I want to just designate an already existing folder.

AIM used to have something like this, if i recall correctly. It has been a while since I used AIM, and I hate it, but would reinstall it for this feature if it was there.

    Other suggestions?

I thought AIM allowed for auto accepting of files, you might try the latest version. Otherwise, you can check other messaging programs as an easy solution.

I want to be able to make a folder available for my friend to browse and select files to transfer.

I can't see that Yahoo or MSN have this feature. The closest I have found is the MSN Shared Folder in Live Messenger.

I will try AIM I guess.

The easiest I have seen to use is Network Magic net2go.. or you can get HFS and your own ip solution..

True, even a program like Serv-u, which requires the other person uses an ftp program.

    1. Open Windows Explorer, and then locate the drive or folder you want to share. Right-click the drive or folder, and then click Sharing and Security
[*]If you are sharing a folder, go to the next step.
      [*]Do one of the following:
      • If the Share this folder on the network check box is available, select the check box.
      • If the Share this folder on the network check box is not available, this computer is not on a network. If you would like to set up a home or small office network, click the Network Setup Wizard link and follow the instructions to turn on file sharing. Once file sharing is enabled, begin this procedure again.
