File Shredder vs.________?

FILE SHREADING? Major Geeks Reviewed?

I am looking on Major Geeks for File Shredding programs, Are they referred to as something else on Major Geeks? I'm looking for reviews of 'freeware' .

for file shredding programs look in drive cleaners here http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads12.html as for me and a lot of others mgers we use would recommend ccleaner when you install the program go into options settings and you can set the level of secure file deletion i set mine at nsa seven swipes and if this is not what you are looking for browse through there are other programs in the list

I have used DPwipe to shred indivdual files and folders, and nCleaner to shred all the free space on a hard drive. Both are very easy to use, and do a great job. nCleaner has many other features like registry cleaning, a startup manager, system tweaks, and more....

This freeware seems strange, i find no criticisms of it online , Can anyone provide information on its reliability and safety?

Why are there programs like this with no help forums or contact information to the designers/distributors?
