Programs long installed (years) and running (apparently) without issue have started failing to open and generate the warning "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check ... to see whether you need an x86 or x64 version of the program...."

I'm using Windows 7 service pack 1 Home Ultimate 64 bit.

I have Macrium Reflect backup, i can restore to an earlier disk image and things seem to run properly, but after a while programs start failing to open and generating the warning. This seems to proliferate as time goes on (hours). Perhaps i haven't gone back far enough.

I use licensed versions of Avira Prime and Malwarebytes. Neither detect any issues, except Malware bytes picks up a PUP in Auslogics Disk Defragmenter installer, which appears to do nothing except open up Auslogics web page (to try to sell more software) when installing the disk defragmenter tool. Quarantining it does not appear to affect anything.

It would appear that you have a haxdoor Trojan. Please go HERE and download the tool. I have not run this tool, so you will have to tell me how it goes and your results.

Once downloaded, right click the file and "Run as Administrator".

The download now button will give you a pop-up. Just close it and you will be directed the the download site - click US link.

Hummm... I see you have ADWCleaner on your system. Did you run it? Did you not attach it because it didn't find anything?

Please download the latest version of FRST the below link.
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: Make sure you download the proper version ( 32 bit or 64 bit ) for your PC. Only one will run, the correct one. So it you make a mistake and download the wrong one, go back and get the other.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

    Sounds like spam.

I can't find any malware in your logs. Your "addition.txt" indicates system errors, application errors and faulty device errors. I can only suggest you post in the software forum for additional assistance.
