File Won't "move"

i have ONE file that when i try to drag it anywhere the hover reads "copy" instead of "move". the kind of thing u expect between drives, but this is the same drive, same general area of windows tree!

basically "......\folder\subfolder\file.avi" where i'm tryna drag it UP a notch into "folder" itself.

not happening with any other file, nor, in fact, with the NEW copy of it which ends up in "folder" -- i can move that one anywhere, np!

what the heck is going on? i briefly considered that maybe move had some size limit (slightly large file), but that wouldn't explain the last part there.

file is not open in a player or anything. and "read-only" is not checked under properties. (not that that should matter, but jftr)

no "workaround" needed -- i can indeed delete the first one after it drops the copy in "folder". but i still wanna know what's going on here!

 

Ok, not answer but a suggestion for FileMenu Tools - https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/filemenu_tools.html - right click and unpack folder, easy!
Plus a ton of other useful tools and a customizable menu!

fix is easy, like i said, but the cause has me dying of curiosity!

 

I'm not sure I understand the whole situation, maybe you could make a video with OBS, Captura or Screen2Gif to upload here?
