Recently I downloaded something called "FileExtensionFinder" that would tell me how to open a certain file. The program worked fine, but I know l,longer have a use for it. I went to uninstall it but there was no listing for it in Add/Remove Programs so I just deleted its program files and registry entry (found only 1 for FileExtensionFinder).

Now the only problem I am having in regards to this is:
The program (if it was indeed a program?) had a user interface in which one would right click on the file one wanted to open and would click on "How to open this file". Then of course the program would open and tell how to open it. Now though I have deleted the program's files and its reg entry this "How to Open this File" still shows up upon a right click.

Now if you do click on that option an error appears which reads, "This file does not have a program associated with it for preforming this actio. Create an association in the Folder options control panel."

How do I get rid of the annoying option that appears on the right click and everything else associated with this program?

I have already used Glary Utilities to clean the regestry and junk files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind...I got rid of it myself by searching through the registry again for "How to open this file", I found 1 entry and delted it. Its all gone now. Though if you think I did it the wrong way let me know, or if I should do something else as well.

In the future, I would try using some other method. As you found out, manually digging through the registry is tedious, and potentially dangerous. If you use Ccleaner, there is a remove programs option in the tools section. Sometimes it lists more items than can be found in the windows add/remove control panel. Also, there is a programs called Revo uninstaller. it will remove anything.
