im looking for an app that does a similar thing but only backs up your apps NOT your drivers or everrything else for that matter ... im trying to reinstall my system but do not want reinstall all of my apps ... i have disk image software but those will back up my drivers with it which is the point of why i want to reinstall (to rid myself of what i believe to be faulty drivers)

the files and transfer wizard that comes with XP home insists on copying all my partitions(like my mp3s which aren't on my boot partition so there is no need to back them up this way) on all my drives and i have no clue as to how to set it so it won't ,,, any help is greatly appreciated

Just a thought, last time I had a driver issue,,,and using my factory driver disk, I was able to reinstall my drivers or should I say repaired them !!! Hope this is helpfull. Glenn

As you are going to re-install your system... you might as well go the whole way and fresh install the apps as well but have a read of this for info on Files and Settings Transfer Wizard http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/deploy/mgrtfset.mspx

one thing to do as you have image soft is to once everything is installed and working the way you want it .... Image the drive a label FreshXP install or something similar and then you have a base point to go from... you can them maybe image the drive evert so often when the system is running right.. but dont delete the last good one... as security if the new one goes belly up.. then you have a fallback position.
