Files Disappearing On Windows 10 Desktop

Today I noticed that several files/folders I keep on my desktop are not displaying. They are there, I can find them when I navigate to them from Windows Explorer. But the main desktop does not display them.

I've already tried refreshing the desktop, changing themes, restarting, and using a program called Thumbnail & Icon Cache Rebuilder to delete and rebuild the icon and thumbnail cache. But after another restart, they are still not displaying.

Any thoughts?

 

Also, it appears that any new items created there, like folders or files don't display. So looks like new and existing files are affected.

 

OK, I feel dumb. Was as simple as checking the "Show Desktop Icons" button in the right-click menu...
