Can someone please tell me all the files to put on a boot disk? ive tried some downloadable boot disk and tried the feature xp already has but none of them seem to work on my computer. maybe bad disk's or soemthin. just wanted to try and put the files on a disk myself by searchin for them and copy and pasting. i did have a good boot disk once but my sister erased it and put a bunch of stupid picturs on it. or if you will direct me to a website that lists all the files that would be good too, thnx.

Here's the Ultimate Boot Disk. See if it's what you're looking for: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download518.html Also, did you go into Bios and make sure the CD-Rom boots before the HD when you tried the Disks?

The Ultimate Boot CD doesn't require a bootdisk, it just needs you to burn the ISO to a CD. It will then be a bootable CD.

You might also try getting one of the varations of Linux that runs on a CD, it can be used to diagnose/fix computer problems too.

Are you burning the ISO image directly to disk? If you don't, then you will lose the boot sector files. MG has a program that can burn an ISO image directly to disk, try CDBurnerXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4242.html

oh, that boot disk is for a cd? i was thinkin of a floppy boot disk. so that download is suppose to be put on a cd? you got me kinda confused now. i already have cdburnerxp on my computer. so when i download the file, im suppose to burn it to cd with cdburnerxp right? and another question, when you buy a new mobo for a computer your builidin, does it have it set in bios already to boot from cd first? oh wait, it prolly wont matter cuz it sees the hard drive as empty and goes on to see if cd is bootable right?
