I don't know why, but suddenly all of our files show their extensions. Our documents created with Word all have .doc after them and when I try to name (or rename) a file, I have to add ".doc" or it says that we may change the file type and deem it unusable.

What's going on? Would love some help. Thanks, Stephanie

File extensions are gooooooooood... but, if you want...

Open windows explorer. go to tools --> Folder options -->View -->find the box that says "hide file extensions" and check it. Then apply it to all folders using the larger button at the top that says "apply to all folders" ;)
