FINALLY buying my computer.. help?

umm.... BUT.. that motherboard... is out of stock so i cant buy that one.. can anyone pick one another one thats similar to that one and not too much and one that will run all of the parts im going to buy?.. i can only spend like $900 or close to that... i have a case picked out also which is $40... and i need someone to pick out a harddrive for me please that will work with everything.. help! i really want to order all these parts today, thanks!!

 

I'd get an Asus, Abit or Gigabyte equivalent, they seem to be the leading brands.
Also, I'd double your ram with that spec, a gig makes a big improvement as I've just discovered

I suppose a 160gb drive would be enough at this stage, you're not going to fill it straight away I'm sure!

 

dude, get a Pentium 2... they rock!!! thats what i have and they own!!.. also get a 128MB intel extreme graphics card.. and for a motherboard get umm.. id say.. a logitech motherboard.. version 2.. get a 250 PSU instead also.. the one you have right now is cheap and sucks ass bad man.. the one i have is made by microsoft corp. and it rocks.. but this is just my 2 cents.. what does everyone esle think?

As far as Hard Drives....With your budget you are looking at $80 max for a hard drive, which....wont get you the most spectacular one...but here ya go...The Baracuda is a little bit faster than the regular...and its 80 gig

never had any problems with thermaltake products will do nicely for setup that was listed when you go sli then you might upgrade it. their cases (that one in particular) also look good and have good air flow
P.S. That system should handle anything you throw at it for quite a while

The SLI isnt the Deluxe, so just keep that in mind, other than that....that is a KICK ass setup for that price....I spent over 900 on just 4 components, lol but thats becuase I went for the kill, heh

Hey Luke, lol these guys know just as much if not more than I do Looks like a killer setup to me...you will be running FPS's like a dream. Only thing I might worry about is Compatability issues, which im sorry to say, I know nothing about For $900, I really dont think you can beat that system.

Ive actually never been to TIgerdirect...but after seeing some of the prices on their Hard Drives....I will DEFINATELY be getting my Hard Drive from Tiger Direct.
