Financial question

How is it that one decides what they can afford to pay for a vehicle? I've got something like $700 a month that I don't use for anything. Does that mean I could pay that for a car, or should I not use everything that I could save?

That brings up another question. What should you target to feed the pig?

If I can't pay all of my bills with 1 weeks check, I don't buy it. Do i need it? is it a random purchase? never buy new, always buy in December and buy 1 year lease returns.

 

Well, Pax, I would say, see if you can answer these questions first:

• 1-Do you need a new car?

• 2-What is the Insurance going to cost?

• 3-Can you make the payments for both the new vehicle and the ins. with out cutting yourself short, and still paying your regular monthly bills, and still have a little to set aside for an emergency should it arise?

• 4-If you don't NEED a new car, save it.

Personally, I don't lease, I don't like leases, but that is up to you. I prefer to buy it, then I own it.. Period.. There are some good deals out there right now, IF you can afford it.

 

I like it when people lease. Then I buy that lease return at one hell of a drop in price

 

I don't like used cars... To me, it is just like buying a used car.. It has been driven, used and possibly abused. OK< maybe not always, but some I have seen, I wouldn't buy them.
