Finding a disabled SSID

This isn't critical, just an idle thought I had.

I've got my little wireless setup, but to help with security, I've got my SSID broadcast disabled. If I want to add a client to my network on the fly (I live in an army barracks, and sometimes me and my friend roll some Starcraft, or Battlefield 2), is there a way for me to find my network without seeing the SSID?

I'm not getting into advanced signal sniffers, just some basic Windows workaround. Is there one, or do I have to just enable the broadcast, connect him, and disable the broadcast?

    Thanks for the help.

Some 3rd party wireless cards come with wireless utility that might work without SSID on.

    Windows WZC need SSID On.

Switching SSID off does not add security it just add fasle sense og security.

Thanks for that. That reply had a little unnecesary bite to it, though. Disabling the bradcast adds security in the same way that sticking dirty magazines under your bed does: no one will find it unless they're looking for it.

Nah there aren't thousands of automated tools to check under your bed though.
