I now have a series of rather large icons on my desktop for sex, drugs, gambling, etc. All of them send you to a website 'findrio.net". I have done everything to remove these icons but cannot seem to find the source. I scanned with Norton, HiJack, iWipe, Spybot, and Ad-Aware but no help.

    Any suggestions?

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Okay I did all the cleaning stuff thru step 6.

The online Trend Micro found 17 with 7 unable to remove
    adw se 69736
    adw se 69737
    adw se 69738
    adw se 69732
    adw se 69733
    adw se 69734
    adw se 69735

    CCCleaner found some

    MS Malicious found nothing

    Ad-Aware found one threat
    SPHLP32

    Spybot found nothing

    MS Antispy found seven
    SurfAccuracy
    Transponder
    Personal Money Tree
    CWS Neo
    ClickAlcamey
    IST ISTbar
    SmallPopcorn64
    AreMedia

I reran CWShredder since a CWS should up - it found nothing

Everything looks fine now, the system runs better.

This all happened when I got a pop-up saying that the computer detected unusual activity. I ignored the pop-up because I thought it was a internet pop-up. So I ignored the warning and all crap broke loose. (sigh).

You should complete the rest of my previous message and follow the directions for posting a HijackThis log so we can double check to make sure you are clean.

Clicked the searchbar and search assistant entries for deletion in Hijack This and got the following. I did submit this to them.

Okay let's try this again. I quote from message # 2, please follow directions:
In case you are still missing the point:
    - you need to go to that link and get the correct version of HJT (yours has not been used for a very long time)
    - you need to install it properly
    - you must attach logs, not post them inline.
