firefox 3.0 will not install

    Im trying to install firefox 3.0 on a vista home prem. maching one it installs i get the following message.

    Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts.To help us diagnose and fix the problem, you can send us a crash report.

    any ideas on how to get this program installed a working

    yes i had the prior version installed i think it was 2.0 i got the message to upgrade and clicked now it will not install and i cannot roll back to 2.0 I went into control panel and did the add and remove and tried again but the same message appears. there was no help in the firefox FAQ
